Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault which happened near Whitstable Station very early on Sunday 24th July.
Just after the Saturday midnight a couple in their thirties walked across the station footbridge on to a platform, where they were subjected to intimidating behaviour and verbal abuse by a crowd of young men and women.
Police say the couple moved past the group to the car park on the Old Bridge Road side but two men then pushed the man to the floor, punching and kicking him. The woman tried to call for help on her mobile phone but was punched by a female. Both victims had facial injuries and were 'very shaken and shocked'.
The police are looking for three people:
- a woman aged about 18 with plaited dark brown hair, who was wearing a white vest and large gold hoop earrings;
- a white man aged around 19, of heavy build and wearing a baggy sweatshirt;
- a black or Asian man aged around 19 who was wearing a white top.
