Remember last December's snow in Whitstable?

Exactly one year ago Whitstable was transformed by heavy snow into WHITEstable for the second time in December 2010 and I, for one, was prevented from travelling to meet up with relatives for a Christmas get-together.

Remember last year's white-out? Picture taken 18th December, 2010.
Here's a reminder of the local snowy scene in photos, and the story in words.
At the beginning of the month, we had experienced our first wintry blanketing which also arrived at a weekend and put paid to the Christmas trading launch in Whitstable, with the Mayor and other participants unable to get here.
This year the December weather story for us is wind and more wind, as we seem to be dodging the snow flurries which I understand are falling elsewhere in the UK.
The Met Office's local forecast as we go into Christmas week is for more blustery showers with occasional glimpses of sun, and there is a typically seasonal warning of frost and ice at night.

I remember the snow well! We made the most of it and had a drink by the fire at a very empty Pearson's Arms. Pleased it's not back this year though, I must say...
