Snow Sunday in Whitstable

With the expected snow falling bang on schedule on Saturday night (well done, weather forecasters!) most people are able to stay indoors or wrap up for a winter walk without worrying about how to get to work and school.
However, Monday morning's not far off, so it's good to have information about possible problems tomorrow at your fingertips.
- Schools - Kent runs an online system where you can check whether an individual school is closed. Best to check tomorrow morning though, as no-one seems to be updating it on a Sunday - or maybe they're all going to be open!
- Trains Southeastern inevitably warn of some disruption and cancellations, and in Thanet today they have stopped the replacement buses because the roads are too risky. Check for line updates for a specific journey. Most problems recorded today seem to be down to signalling failures.
- Roads - Kent Highways reports that all major roads in Kent are currently passable with care, and that traffic is in any case very light. The Highways Agency site is a very useful source of up-to-date information on national roads.
- There's a risk of ice tonight, and some light falling of snow, sleet or maybe even rain tomorrow according to the latest predictions for the Canterbury/Whitstable area.
