Just heard that the beach cafe plan was thrown out by councillors last night.- more on this later. Bridges for the Crab and Winkle cycle/walk route approved.

I would suggest it was the most comprehensively rejected planning application I've ever seen at Canterbury City Council's Development Control Committee in the eight years I've been attending meetings...which isn't surprising since the amount of changes in planning (particularly the Protected Open Space classification of all the district's beaches) since the previous successful, yet expired, application.
