Last night's public meeting about Whitstable Harbour was intriguing, almost as if there were other issues here which weren't really being aired. I was interested to hear the fishermens' representative say that he and his fellows did not want the harbour to be run independently, and that unless better facilities for the fishermen are forthcoming they would 'vote with their feet'. Surely this deserves attention - a harbour without boats would look pretty silly!
