Happy holidays with lots to do

School's out for Easter, and there's no excuse to get bored even if the current sunny weather doesn't hold out.

There's something in Whitstable for every child - whether a sporty, arty-crafty or nature-loving type - so get booking and get stuck in!

The Horsebridge Centre offers a chance to get in on the Royal Wedding celebrations early with a workshop to decorate a commemorative plate. This is on Monday 18th April, 2-4pm, and the cost is £2 per child with materials included. No need to book.

Also at the Horsebridge, from Wednesday 20th to Friday 22nd April there will be a multi sports club run by Chewits Sports Courses. This is for 5-11-year-olds and you do need to book. You can choose from a 2-hour session (cost £7) or 4-hour session (£12.95) - these are all during mornings. Phone 01227 281174, or 07763 615373.

Homemade cakes - yummy! The Cakery in Tankerton is running baking events for kids this Easter. Phone them or email cholman@live.co.uk.

Make a splash at Whitstable Swimming Pool - especially if it's too cold for sea bathing - with their holiday fun sessions. Contact the pool on 01227 772442 for times.

For a great time with friends, Lazer Rush on the Joseph Wilson estate is open longer on the holidays, from noon until 8pm, 11th-25th April, and has some special Easter weekend events planned (watch this space!)

Our final suggestion, for kids who like animals, plants and bug-hunting, is Wildwood which has a long list of holiday events. Especially appealing is 'Food, Digestion and Poo!' - which is billed as not for the faint-hearted! I like the sound of the night tour as well - might hear some wolves howling! Call 01227 712111 to book, but study their website list first. There are also craft activities here for kids less inclined to the great outdoors.
