Busy twinners

2011 seems to be getting busy for Whitstable Twinning Association.
With six partnership towns and four 'link' towns, there's always something going on - and now the WTA has a new website to keep members in touch with it all.
The association's annual meeting will be on March 24th at Whitstable Castle, starting 7 for 7.30pm, when musical entertainment will be provided by Whitstable Recorder Ensemble.
Before that, a couple of social events are lined up: on 18th March the French group are having a bistro evening at the Parish Social Centre in Castle Road, and the following day there's a coffee morning and sale of goods open to all at St Alphege Church, 9am-midday.
Whitstable is twinned with:
- Dainville in France
- Borken, Germany,
- Albertslund, Denmark
- Molndal, Sweden
- Ricany, Czech Republic
- Grabow, Germany
The association formed in 1983 and members reckon it is probably the busiest in the UK, with hundreds of visits to and fro each year involving about a thousand people. It is independent and self-funding. If you want to know, more visit the excellent website or pop along to their coffee morning.
