When we are closed a full emergency service for all our patients is provided by Vets Now in Canterbury. Following any emergency treatment the patient will be returned to our care.
We came to Riger Baker's on the recommendation of our neighbour when we moved into the area. They truly do care for you and your pet. We have always found the advice pragmatic, sound and caring. Roger and Violetta are fabulous with our cat and dog and frankly now we've been here we wouldnt go anywhere else.

Welcome to our Veterinary Practice. We are the only veterinary practice based solely in Whitstable and offer a friendly personal service to both our clients and our patients.
We have upgraded our cat and dog vaccination packages to offer a range of options for the pet owner. Check these options on . and see what very good value we give.
Over the Easter holiday we have no appointments on Good Friday, Violeta has a surgery from 9am to noon on Easter Saturday and there are no appointments on either Easter Sunday or Bank Holiday Monday. Violeta will be back at 9am on Tuesday with appointment until noon and then from 4pm onwards until 7pm.
The two vets in the practice - Mr Roger Baker and Dr Violeta Matei - take turns in consulting and operating. This enables us to start morning consultations at 8am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and at 9am on other days. In the evening we usually continue to provide consultations until about 7pm. We understand that not every client can visit the vets between 9am and 5pm!
The telephone lines are open from 8am to 6pm but if you wish to make an appointment outside this time simply go to our web site - and click on "appointments available" to see when we have a spare slot. Then simply send us an email to Vets@bakervet.net and let us know which available appointment you would like to book, the name of the patient and what the problem is. If it is an emergency then telephone Vets Now at Canterbury who provide an emergence service for our clients whenever the surgery in Cromwell Road is closed.
It has always been the policy of the Practice to provide every patient with a FREE microchip if their owner would like it. So far we have implanted over 2500 microchips under this scheme at no cost to our patients' owners. Not surprisingly our clients find that if their pets go missing they have a much improved chance of finding them again. On average we reunite between 2 and 3 pets a week with their owners which is itself is a tribute to the system
We try to go that extra step in caring for our patients. No patient is ever left alone and if we do need to keep a pet in overnight we have staff on duty (not asleep!) all night long to care for them. We also recognise that if a patient has had a major operation it is sometimes best for him/her to stay in over night where they can be cared for.

We saw Dr Violeta Matei when we visited for Saffie's booster shots yesterday and she was so complimentary about and loving towards my girl that she almost enjoyed her visit. Roger, Violeta and the rest of the staff are a great team.

ReportVery pleased with the service we got for our budgerigar this morning. He is already perking up and eating again. Fingers crossed, though he is 11 years old which is ancient in budgie years. Only cost a tenner, so well worth it. They give discount for the Whit Card, too.

Mr Baker has been looking after our overweight diabetic cat Taz.. You would have to go a long way to find a more caring vet. Reasonably priced and friendly reception staff. Mr Baker is a wonderful photographer and his waiting room is very interesting not that you ever have to wait long!
