Whitstable Town FC received a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of visiting team Whitehawk at the weekend. Manager Justin Luchford has apologised to fans, saying "you deserve better" and promising to work hard to avoid a repeat performance. Whitstable now sit in precarious 20th place out of 21 in the Ryman League Division One South. The next match is away to Worthing next Saturday.

ALTHOUGH they haven't played since January 28, and have taken a healthy four points from their last two games, Whitstable will go into Saturday's home match against Whitehawk sitting second from bottom of Division One South. That's because all results against Croydon Athletic, who have resigned from the league, have now been scrubbed, and that includes Town's 4-1 home win against them back in November. It's a development that doesn't...

SATURDAY'S 0-0 draw at home to Crawley Down made it two consecutive games unbeaten for Whitstable and two clean sheets to go with them. But although it was the first time since the opening week of the season that the Oystermen have gone two games without losing, manager Justin Luchford isn't getting too carried away just yet. "It's perhaps a bit early to talk about turning the corner," he said, after his side had held...

SWAN and Harlequin are up to third in the Premier Division courtesy of Sunday's 5-3 victory away at lowly Monument Eagles. Nicky Scott bagged a hat-trick for the Swans with Bob Beazleigh and Matt Hennessy also in the goals. In the only other top flight game of the day, Micky Hayley, Sam Staunton and Barnaby Loader guided AFC Royals to a 3-2 win away at Broomfield Crusaders, who continue to struggle. Bob Hitchcock scored both...

Cranbrook 37 Whitstable 0 By Bob Tomlinson THE adverse effects of a four week break were clear to see in this Whitstable performance. Cranbrook, who had suffered a heavy defeat just a week before, scored six unanswered tries, completely outplaying the visitors. Victory for the home side was made easier by a very disappointing Blues' display. There seemed to be little sign of any kind of teamwork or sense of purpose needed to...
