Snow news update

In Whitstable, the main problem today seems to be icy pavements.The thin layer of snowy is becoming hard and sticky, making walking slow and requiring care.

No schools are reported closed today in Whitstable or Herne Bay, though many are shut in Canterbury which will affect some Whitstable students who travel to the Simon Langton Girls Grammar and the University of Creative Arts. The local BBC monitors school closures.

Southeastern trains are running a reduced service. Check here before setting out and allow extra time if you are walking to the station.

No very local problems reported on the roads at the moment, but check with Kent Police if travelling around the county.
